It has been happy at the start of the book but then suddenly the European settlers came along and ruined everything!!!! For the Aboriginals. In some parts of the book is very, very sad and other parts are extremely happy and maybe even suspense.
Maybe even building suspense :)
I like the book: Nanberry because it’s about Australian history and Aboriginal perspectives.
It’s interesting and about the First Fleet and about how this Aboriginal country had been colonised and where they landed.I like that they used Aboriginal names and Aboriginal words and items.I also like the “White ghost camp”and the way they described the First Fleet as the Ghost ships and described the places. I also like the way that Australian natives were described as having learnt English words for the first time.
Nanberry has been adopted by Surgeon White and his new name is Andrew Douglass Keble White.Arabanoo died Nanberry(or Andrew)was worried because he thought Arabanoo’s ghost would follow him.
White Ghost Hospital(Nanberry’s perspective)
I think nanberry should be adopted by Surgeon white because he is a kind, loving and happy man.
Nanberry is a brave and courageous indigenous aboriginal whose family was part of an aboriginal tribe. But trouble swept over when the first fleet, known to the aboriginals as the white ghost people. At the same time, Smallpox infected and killed many natives, including Nanberry’s family, his mum, baby sister, grandpa and himself.
This is a very hooking story that sent me gripping over the edge of the cliff. From all different perspectives, Maria, Surgeon White and Nanberry. I loved this affectionate story and is suitable for all ages.
Nanberry is an Aboriginal kid from a long time ago. His mum had the smallpox. Nanberry wasn’t able to hold a spear because he wasn’t a warrior. The book is based on a true story. The main characters are Nanberry, Surgeon White, warriors, Nanberry’s mum, and Nanberry’s dad. At the end, Arabanoo died.
I think this book is interesting but a bit boring.
Nanberry is an aboriginal book, the main characters are Nanberry, Surgeon White, and Maria.
Nanberry is an Aboriginal boy. All of his family died because the small pocks, white blisters that spread all over your body. Surgeon White has to trie save as many Aboriginals as he can. Almost in the middle of the book everyone in the Aboriginal land gets the small pocks.
I think Nanberry is an interesting book.
Nanberry Personal Response
I think the book is very interesting because it tells you about Surgeon White, Nanberry and Maria’s perspective .It tells you about historical facts from a long time ago in 1788.
I think that Surgeon White is nice because he helped Aboriginals that had smallpox. I think that Nanberry is lucky because he didn’t get smallpox and Surgeon White adopted him. Nanberry’s family is also dead because of smallpox. In some parts I felt sorry because his mum, sister, grandfather and Arabanoo died because of smallpox.
Nanberry Personal Response
I think it’s a great book it’s very and very good but also exciting it also keeps the audience reading. It’s exciting because you want to know what’s next. It captures you’r attention and lures you in. In my own opinion I like the part when Nanberry get’s saved by Surgeon White on the beach.
It’s a wonderful book because Surgeon White changed Nanberry’s life in many ways. He now has an English name and he is now Surgeon White’s adopted son.
This is an excellent response offering insight into many events and characters. Well done!
I like naberry because it's very realistic and makes my imagination go wild and its
